PAWEŁ JARODZKI

(b. 1958, Wrocław, Poland)
He is a painter, graphic artist, draftsman, author of comics; he also works with poetry and video art. Currently, as a professor, he runs the Multimedia Studio at the Faculty of Painting and Sculpture at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. In the years 1979–1984, he studied at the Faculty of Painting, Sculpture and Graphics at the State School of Fine Arts in Wrocław. In 1984, he graduated with a diploma in painting under professor Konrad Jarodzki and professor Leszek Kaćma. In the early 1980s, together with his friends from the studio of professor Konrad Jarodzki and professor Leszek Kaćma, he started publishing a fanzine called LuXus. While working on the magazine, the artists formed the LuXus art group. Its most active period was 1984–1988. In 2014, Korporacja Ha! Art published his book “Complete History of the Universe With Particular Emphasis on Poland”.

ARTIST STATEMENT

My job is mainly looking. Painting or producing other objects is an additional activity. But looking is what I do best.
