KRZYSZTOF WAŁASZEK

He has been a carpenter, industrial glass grinder, worker in a fats and oils processing plant and taxi driver. Since 1989, he has been teaching at the Academy of Art and Design in Wrocław. He currently heads one of the drawing studios at the Faculty of Painting.

ARTIST STATEMENT

He uses various techniques in his artistic practice, e.g. painting, ceramics and even spatial objects. Text plays a key role in his works. He addresses such present day problems as the commercialisation of social life and the flattening and distortion of such notions as faith, patriotism and family.
