ARTIST STATEMENT

“Karolina Freino’s work does not fit in the white box of the gallery. The territory of its operation is broadly understood public space. It is both a physical place, a stage where the spectacle of social relations and political conflicts takes place, as well as a media space, information circulation networks and areas of shared perceptions and collective memory. The artist does not limit herself to the critical position of an observer. She intervenes in the spectacle of reality and weaves into it her own narratives, not provided for in the original script.” Stach Szabłowski
