Andrzej Kosowski, studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wrocław. In 2001, he graduated with the awarded diploma at the sculpture studio of prof. Alojzy Gryt. Phd In 2011. Since 2012, he has been employed as an assistant professor in the Department of Sculpture Techniques. Currently, he runs the Wood Carving Studio.
In Kosowski’s creative search, two trends can be distinguished, the common denominator of which is the issue of time and passing. On the one hand, it is shown through activities on the border of ephemeral art, where he treats the processes of destruction as creative values, which are the beginning, not the end. On the other hand, the artist creates projects characterized by sculptural craftsmanship related to the processing of materials such as stone or wood. The artist’s artistic credo is the words of Nicholas McMaster, “Build from worthless, save what is valuable.”
